Balmain are undeniably one of my favorite fashion houses. I love their use of the female silhouette and chic Parisian edge.

Since 2006 when designer Christophe Decarnin took over the brand, sales have doubled each season, and  with shows like this there is no reason why not.

H&M are doing it and doing it and doing it again it seems, this time with womenswear designer Sonia Rykiel. The high street giant are set to release a Rykiel lingerie collection in the winter and a knitwear collection in the new year.

The Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie collection is the ideal way to offer the essence of Rykiel to a great number of women around the world, and a beautiful way to close the year. The knitwear collection is perfect for welcoming a colourful new season.”

Nathalie Rykiel, artistic director spoke on behalf of the family owned business.

It’s the first time H&M are doing a lingerie line with an outside designer and it is said to hit stores in the Autumn/Winter of 2009. While a knitwear and accessories collection will be available in February for Spring/summer 2010. Available for women and girls (from 18 months to 8 years). 1,500 worldwide stores can look forward to the overnight stays and queue upon queue the night before the opening.
