Not too long ago there was a post on the film/documentary of Valentino. After much anticipation and enjoyment of watching this; I must recommend it to everyone that has any form of interest in fashion, design, tailoring, art and the Italian language!

It was a joy to have such an elaborate sneak peak into the life of one of fashion’s living legends. I still can’t get over how Valentino is 5 years shy of a half century reign in the Couture world.I’m not going to give one second of it away. Just let you all know that if you don’t watch it you will be missing out.

When I hear the name Valentino, I think about many things, more precisely his very own customized shade of red. Valentino has solely managed to capture the attention of an International fashion audience and hold that attention to last a career spanning over four decades. His signature and mastery is based around elegance and his intricate craft on creating the most perfect evening gown.

Valentino has made a name for himself as a designer who’s extravagant fashions will forever go untouched by time.

In 2007 he announced that he was retiring, he was 75 and had done it all, one of the highlights being, Jackie Onassis’ wedding dress. In order to celebrate his career, a fashion extravaganza took place in Rome and Valentino showcased one of his last haute-couture shows. He retired fully in 2008.

Now all of his fans and inspired young designers have something to look forward to: Valentino: The Last Emperor. It’s a feature-length documentary on the designer premiered at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival. The filmmakers shot over 250 hours of footage with exclusive, unprecedented access to Valentino and his entourage.

This documentary is like looking into the world of one of fashions forever lasting icons, who helped evolve the industry through the decades.
