Fashion Fusion Expo

Posted by Farah On February - 28 - 2010

Fashion Fusion Expo, a brand new London event on March 12/13 will raise consumer awareness about fashion and sustainability with a theatrical line up of catwalk shows, expert hosted seminars and exclusive fashion shopping opportunities.

Showcasing the very best talents in sustainable fashion and accessories design, this two day event will be held at Old Truman Brewery, London on 12/13 March 2010 and aims to attract 6000 visitors to show fashion can be both sustainable and stylish.
Christina Curry, model and presenter, is to introduce the Expo’s catwalk shows.

Christina shares; “I’m thrilled to be working with Fashion Fusion, and strongly believe in their mission to make the public more aware of sustainable fashion. I love quirky clothes from high street to vintage as much as the next girl but Fashion Fusion is opening up exciting new doors to ethnic prints, diverse styles, and the next wave of hot young designers at the same time as
bringing the ethics of consumer fashion to the forefront!”

Christina adds “Sustainable fashion needs to be the focus for the future and Fashion Fusion Expo 2010 will be the event to place it in the spotlight.”

Fashion Fusion Expo is the first of its kind as it presents an original opportunity for the fashion public to meet and buy from the designers directly. Dr Nicola Thomas, the founder of the global eco fashion guide, SustainyourStyle.com, is sponsoring the event.

Nicola enthused “We jumped at the chance to sponsor Fashion Fusion Expo as this event is a
fantastic chance for everyone to touch and feel the quality of sustainable clothing.”

Nicola adds “As many of these exclusive design labels have not yet found their way onto the retail High Street, consumers will be able to buy stylish new clothes that not only express their conscience with individuality but at discount prices too!”.

With something for every taste and budget, the show offers a mixture of high street names, boutique brands, vintage inspirations, designer collections and individual labels for true fashion lovers. The fashion buying public will also get the chance to watch four exclusive catwalk shows each day, coupled with a great line up of expert seminars to learn more about the exciting world of sustainable fashion.

Tickets can now be bought online at http://fashionfusionexpo.eventbrite.com for only £10 (£8 student concessions) or £15 on the door.

P.S Our very own Reem Kanj is a confirmed face and celebrity for the event, she will be giving expert advice on the second day (13th), so make sure you buy your tickets now!!

Premiére Vision Paris 2010

Posted by Reem On February - 9 - 2010

It’s the place where every designer and their team of creators, decision makers and even some lucky interns flock to every year. All for the same reason. It’s known as the epiphany of the fabric trade show, and it’s right around the corner. February 12-13th to be exact.

It will be mine and my sister/partner’s first trip there as official designers to source out fabrics for our label House of Rena, and I know it will be nothing short of incredible. As a Bachelors degree holder in Surface Textiles, it’s like my Disney World, and I can not wait to go and check out the amazing new trends and fabrics available to me.

Paris here I come!

Check out their press release here and website for more info.
